Care Details

Light

This young plant relies heavily on bright indirect light to support its chlorophyll-poor cells. Give it twelve to fourteen hours a day under a full-spectrum LED grow light, set twelve to eighteen inches above the canopy, for steady growth.

Never expose the delicate leaves to direct afternoon sun, the white patches have no protective layer and will burn into dry brown holes instantly. If it's too dark, the seedling will stop producing its signature pattern and revert to plain green to survive.

Water

Keep the growing medium evenly damp, like a well wrung-out sponge, rather than cycling through dry and wet like a mature Monstera would. Water with room-temperature distilled water or reverse-osmosis water every three to five days, depending on your setup's moisture retention.

Skip regular tap water entirely, the chemicals and minerals will burn the tender roots. Make sure the pot has clear drainage so water doesn't sit at the bottom.

Humidity & Temperature

Keep humidity high, between 75% and 85%, for the first four to six weeks. Keep the plant sealed in a clear propagation dome or glass cabinet during this time.

Keep the room between 70°F and 82°F to support fast root growth. Keep it away from cold window drafts, dry air, and heating vents. Below 60°F can shock the plant and turn the tender growth point black.
