This plant does best in bright indirect light. Put it somewhere it'll get plenty of filtered light, like near an east or west-facing window.

Keep it shielded from harsh midday or afternoon sun, that'll scorch and bleach the leaves. A little early morning sun is fine, similar to how some Ficus varieties handle it, but too much direct light for too long will damage it. It can handle lower light too, it'll just grow slower.

Let the top two inches of soil dry out completely before you water again. This plant stores water in its thick trunk, so it's pretty forgiving if you forget to water it now and then.

When you do water, soak the soil until it drains from the bottom, then empty the tray. Don't overwater or let the pot sit in standing water, that leads to root rot.

Regular household humidity around 40% is all this plant needs. Unlike more delicate plants that need constant humidity tracking, the Money Tree handles typical home and office conditions just fine.

Keep the temperature between 65°F and 80°F. Keep it away from cold drafts near doors, drafty winter windows, and heating or AC vents.

Plant it in a loamy soil mix with some sand, pumice, or perlite added in, for good airflow and quick drainage.

Feed it monthly with a standard liquid fertilizer from early spring through late summer. Stop feeding completely in fall and winter, while the plant rests and doesn't need much.

Propagate this plant with stem cuttings in late spring or summer. Take a 4 to 6 inch cutting with a few nodes on it, dip the end in rooting hormone, and put it in a moist peat and perlite mix.

Keep it in bright indirect light with high humidity until roots grow in, usually within a few weeks.

Repot your Money Tree every 2 years in the spring to refresh its loamy soil mix. Because they prefer slightly snug containers, select a new pot that is only 1 to 2 inches larger in diameter than the current one and ensure it has proper drainage holes.
